This is a very nice item, James Purdy and sons highly reputable gun maker from Audley House S. The case comes with original keys and owner’s tag. The interior base of the case is made of wood with a leather exterior. The lid has a red velvet inner and a leather outer. It’s in good shape. There are a few blemishes on the ext. Here’s a lovely solid oak pistol presentation box. It has a working lock, with one key that is marked BLCo. My research indicates that BLCo manufactured locks in the early 20th century. I can’t say for sure when the box was made but it was either made then, or made later as a reproduction. It measures 14 3/8″ long, 6 1/2″ wide, and 2 3/8 tall. The inside is lined with blue velvet. The velvet is in great shape other than glue? Marks in the larger/bottom right compartment and some wear where the hammer lays. Everything else about the box is near perfect. I cannot guarantee fit with any specific pistol. Obviously, it was most likely made for a Colt revolver of some type, but might fit other makes. If you need to know a specific measurement please don’t hesitate to ask. I try to give any information I have about the listings, and to tell you whether the information is fact or opinion. My description will point out anything I find that could possibly be considered a flaw. For this reason, many past buyers felt that they received a better product than they expected. Larger packages will have the option of 3 ground carriers. I use padded envelopes, peanuts, bubble wrap, and Styrofoam packaging as necessary to ensure safe arrival.
